SimSE Assignment

SimSE is a computer game where the player manages a software engineering project.
For this assignment you will learn how to play the game and attempt to earn a high score.

Prerequisite: You should understand what the Waterfall process model is and how it works. If you aren't familiar with the Waterfall model, you can read about it in the textbook.

Browse to the the home page. (http://www.ics.uci.edu/~emilyo/SimSE/index.html)
Read the Home page.
Read the Details page.

To learn how to play the game, you can either read the Player's Manual or watch video tutorials.  It takes longer to watch the videos, but I thought they were a better introduction.  The manual and videos can be found on the Downloads page or from these links:

Obtain the game.
Download SimSE (for Waterfall model). [multiplatform] Unzip it and launch the Jar file from a command window.

Play the game.  Your goal is to earn 70 points or higher.  It may take more than one attempt. If you can't get 70 after four attempts, just report your highest score.

Take a screen capture showing that you completed the game.

Type a one page summary of the important software engineering concepts you learned from playing SimSE. Include your name, and save your report as a PDF.

Submit your report to PolyLearn.
