CPE 308 Team Project Retrospective Report

The Project Retrospective meeting is a chance for your team to reflect on the team project experience and to summarize lessons learned.  Assign someone to be a recorder to take notes and then write a report summarizing the team discussion.

You might want to organize your discussion around the following project categories:

The main objective is to identify areas of success and issues that need improvement.

The following questions are good for getting discussion started and for keeping the conversation focused.

Accomplishments

What did we accomplish? Did we meet our goals? What activities or tactics worked well for us?

Problems

What difficulties did we encounter?  How did we resolve them or workaround them?

Weaknesses

In what areas was our performance less than satisfactory? What are the areas of weakness for our team? What aspects of team functioning need improvement? Consider individually completing McConnell's Survival Test (pp12-16) and sharing your results.

Lessons Learned

What important lessons did we learn? What are the key "take away" points for us to remember?

Plans

What are the plans for improvement in 309?  What specific actions will be taken to overcome this quarter's shortcomings?

The report must include team name, manager name, date and location of meeting, attendee names.
Here are some examples of good and poor reports.
