Student Evaluation of CSC 300 presentation
Please use a scale of 0 though 5 for each metric. 0 is
unacceptable, 5 is really exceptional. A score of 2 is
fair, 3 is good, 4 is very good. Please only assign a 5 when it
really strikes you as exceptional work. By the same token, only
assign a 0 or a 1 when the student performs very poorly.
Time contraint: Talk for 8 minutes or less, Q&A for 2 minutes or less.
1. Eye contact and speaking style. Eye contact, comfortable style? Speaking clearly and loud enough?
_____________
2. Quality of slides.
Do the slides help organize the talk and add to your understanding
of the topic? Do they distract from the talk itself?
_____________
3. Presentation of FACTS in an unbiased manner.
Do you get a good idea of the state of the world in the area?
Are facts presented so that you could go and check them if you
were interested?
_____________
4. Statement of a narrow, focused issue for resolution. Does the issue "pop out" of the fact recitation? Do you understand exactly what question the presenter is asking?
_____________
5. Coverage of alternative arguments.
Have alternate arguments been covered in a fair manner and
attributed so that you could trace them if you were interested?
_____________
6. Use of ethical principles and ethical analysis
to come to a reasoned conclusion. Does the presenter answer
her own question? Do you (even if you disagree) understand and
respect the reasoning behind the presenter's conclusion?
_____________
