Hello, world!

I am Alex Dekhtyar, the instructor for this course.
This is my seventh year teaching at Cal Poly. Typically,
I teach database and data mining classes, so the 
next time you take my class may be in two - three years.

I read a lot of sci-fi, listen to a lot of old 
(by current standards) music, and, when time allows,
I also wear goofy ties.
