Testing Project 1
- Load your app on a phone.
- Find at least four people in the class to test your app. For each one, do the following:
- Show them your app description/feature list from your e-portfolio - let them read it, don't explain it to them
- Give them the phone. Tell them which app is yours, but nothing more.
- Take notes of any of the following:
- Questions they ask - you may answer them, but be as direct as possible, don't tell them more than what they asked
- Comments they make
- Missteps they make (e.g. click buttons out of order)
- Confusion
- Delight
- Surprises
- Once they are done testing your app, ask the following questions:
- What did you like about the app?
- What did you not like about the app?
- What was intuitive?
- What was confusing?
- What seemed to be missing? or, What do you wish had been in the app?
- Any ideas for improvements or new features?
- Use your notes to improve your app and answer the first question on your e-portfolio
- Schedule:
- 20 minutes announcements and prep (load apps on phones)
- select 1/3 of teams as testers
- max 10 minutes per tester
- partners show tester portfolio app description/feature list
- tester uses app, partners silent, one behind/to side, one in front/angle
- partners ask questions, document responses
- repeat 3 times so everyone gets to test, 4 testers per app
