Project 2 Milestone 2
Project 2 Overview
The goal of project 2 is to create a novel Android app using Java and the Android SDK. You are to work with your assigned team.
Process
Work with your team to develop the app following a typical software development process.
The project will have three milestones. Requirements and design are to be completed in this first milestone.
A 60% prototype will be completed in the second milestone.
The final product, presentation, and a brief paper will be completed in the third milestone.
You should complete all work on the project together with your team. You will divide up tasks, but no one
person should complete significant tasks without the involvement of teammates.
You will not have adequate time to complete the project in class, so be sure to exchange contact information and find
common times that you can work together. See these suggestions for working as a team.
Deliverables
- Create a page for your project under the Project 2 Milestone 2 page.
- Place the following artifacts on the Project 2 page created in the last step.
- Feature List Progress: indicate the status of your list of features that your app will provide (complete, well on its way, started but having serious issues, barely started, not started)
- Successes: what is going well (e.g. features, team dynamics, focus, components)
- Challenges: what is not going well (e.g. features, team dynamics, focus, components)
- Prepare a five to eight minute presentation to be given in class on the due date. Think of this as an update to upper management.
Your job is to convince us that you are making good progress on the app, and it is likely to be complete by the due date.
If you are not making good progress, explain why and what you are going to do about it.
Update us on any changes to the features that you propose.
You are not to prepare slides. Do show your app in its current state, running on a mobile device if at all possible. If you can't show the app running on a device, at least show screen shots and code snippets of completed work. Do show your e-portfolio Project 2 page, but do not just read it or walk through it. Be sure your Project 2 page on your portfolio is readable
with the projector. Avoid things like colored text on dark backgrounds. Practice your presentation. You should be able to talk through your idea, without reading what is on the screen.
All team members must talk.
