Cal Poly has a number of computing policies that are taken quite seriously by the ITS organization. The policies on line also contain information about lab etiquette and policies on items such as running processes.

There are also privacy rights that are contained in a policy statement for personal information that is given to all instructors. In the policy statement, it states that students have rights to most files kept by the university, and it also states that state agencies like Cal Poly have the right of access to individual's records in certain situations.
