Knowledge Harvesting R is a pioneering methodology for identifying, capturing, making sense, packaging and applying key knowledge.

Harvesting is primarily focused on making tacit (subtle, hidden) knowledge explicit.  We accomplish this through sessions and focus group meetings.

Knowledge Harvesting is continuously evolving, both the methodology itself (we improve it every week) and the knowledge assets you generate using the methodology.

An amazing thing happens when you do knowledge harvesting.  As knowledge assets are generated and used to accomplish daily work, new knowledge emerges. Not only do you capture knowledge you never thought was possible to capture, but you end up with more than you bargained for.  As more and more people begin to use the knowledge, it grows.  New knowledge assets are created as an offshoot of the process.

The Knowledge Harvesting methodology includes these processes:

FOCUS
Focus helps you identify the knowledge in your organization that is most critical, in other words, where you should focus your knowledge harvesting efforts.

FIND
Find provides guidance on locating experts and existing support information.

ELICIT
Elicit provides guidance for conducting effective harvesting sessions.

ORGANIZE
Organizational processes show you how to make sense of the information collected through interviews and mined from explicit documents.  You'll identify patterns and organize the knowledge into logical groups of support information and guidance.

PACKAGE
During Package processes, you determine the best vehicle or method of packaging the knowledge so that it can be transferred to others.

APPLY
In Apply processes, you determine where and how best to apply the knowledge.  This includes identifying how the knowledge will be integrated into daily work.

EVALUATE & ADAPT
The Evaluate and Adapt processes provide tools and guidance for measuring the effectiveness of the knowledge asset and adapting it to better meet the needs of target learners and produce greater results.
