CPE/CSC 480 Artificial Intelligence Miscellaneous Information
This is a collection of Web pointers with information
that might be of interest for this course.
I put this collection of links together a few years ago,
but unfortunately there is so much material out there
that it becomes very difficult to keep up with it,
and I have not been able to update it on a regular basis.
Additional Material for Course Topics
This section provides pointers to material
relevant to the topics as discussed in class.
It is organized as pointers to Web pages,
books and papers, and "AI Nuggets",
which indicate demos, applications, games,
or other items that deserve special attention.
A Web page maintained by the authors
of the text book, Stuart Russell and Peter Norvig, contains
an exhaustive list of additional material
http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/~russell/ai.html.
Computists Weekly Newsletter
by Ken Laws.
I've been subscribing to this newsletter for several years,
and it offers a lot of AI-related items. It offers various
free trial offers.
There are also dozens of books available. As reference material,
the "Core Java" series published by SunSoft
and Prentice Hall
is a good bet; many of its books have been
co-authored by the developers of Java.
Another widely praised one is
Java in a Nutshell
published by O'Reilly.
You can find a long list of books on Java
at
http://www.ibiblio.org/javafaq/books.html;
although it may be biased since it is put together
by somebody who has written related books himself,
it can give you some guidance on the choice of suitable books
for your purpose.
