2. Functional Requirements

The Calendar Tool provides functionality to schedule appointments, meetings, events, and tasks. Calendars can be viewed in a variety of display formats, from single day to a full year. Calendar operations can be performed by individual users on their personal calendars, as well as by administrative users on a system-wide calendar. Administrative users can schedule meetings for user groups and perform general administrative operations for managing databases and setting global defaults.

Following the usage scenarios are two sections that summarize operational details in the areas of graphical user interface and multi-user data access. These details are relevant to implementations in specific operating environments. The functional requirements conclude with a discussion of possbile future enhancements to the Calendar Tool. These are enhancments that may be incorporated into some future version of the system, beyond its initial release.
