CSC 308 Milestone 6

CSC 308 Milestone 6

Revised 28 October

Due: Seventh and eighth weeks. (Discussion participation during lab Monday through Friday week 7; completed milestone checked into project directory by Monday 7 November, 7PM.)

Activities:

Continue work on requirements and specification:

  1. Continue the requirements analysis work begun in Milestones 2 through 5. Specifically, continue to refine and add new functional requirements scenarios. NOTE: At least one scenario per team member must be complete, to the level of detail exemplified in the Milestone 6 example excerpts for Sections 2.2 and 2.3.x [ HTML , PDF ]

  2. Continue work the formal specification of your system, focusing on major object and operation definitions, as well as packaging.

  3. Complete the next round of requirements inspection testing, performed by the team member who is assigned the inspection duties for week 7.

  4. For lab discussions on Monday through Wednesday, be prepared to discuss modeling of the major objects and operations for your project.

For the last activity, what it means to "be prepared" is that you must have some major portions of your object and operation model well enough defined to be worthy of discussion with the entire class during lab. If you want to prepare some slides to work from, that would be fine, or we can work entirely on the whiteboard. This will be a working session, where we'll use the whiteboard plenty; you definitely do not need to prepare a polished PowerPoint presentation.

If you have some particularly interesting unsolved modeling problems, these would be fine topics for discussion. Fisher may also choose what he considers to be interesting or useful aspects of your project models to discuss. During week 6 lab meetings, we'll discuss which modeling topics are of most interest to cover in the week 7 reviews.

The team schedule for Week 7 modeling lab reviews is as follows:

Monday: Keyboard Cowboys, SLO Schedulers
Wednesday: Wacky Waving, closeEnough
Friday: DDD
