1. Introduction

This document defines requirements for an electronic Grader Tool. The tool provides functionality for teachers to manage gradebooks for courses, as well as students to view their current scores in a course. Teachers use the Grader Tool to enter scores for assignments to compute overall grades for each student. This tool also provides charts for teachers to have a visual of the grades in the course. On the charts, there is a tool for teachers to add a curve to a class by dragging the minimum score for a certain letter grade. The grade spreadsheet has a hierarchical structure, so that students can be added into teams/groups, and have some assignments be individual and some to be graded as a team. Assignments are also hierarchical with categories that can be defined by the teacher.

The Grader Tool also provides tools for students. Students are able to view their scores on assignments in the class, as well as view the anonymous scores of other students in the class. There is a grade prediction tool, so that students can discover what scores are necessary to end with a certain final grade, or predict what their grade will be based on their current assignments.
