Schoolhouse Test 3 is a test generation tool designed by Schoolhouse Technologies, Inc. It has a good set of features with a focus of customizability. The course instructor is the sole customer for this application, and the only method of delivery is through printing. This means there is no support for automatic grading, administrative user functions, or online delivery or submission of tests.

The tool provides fundamental test generation functionality that achieves its goal of making test design a simple and quick process by having three views. However, a one-click generation of tests is lacking due to the absence of a test bank within the application. The test that is generated has a clean and intuitive look and feel without much effort by the user. Schoolhouse Test strives to save teachers paper and photocopying costs by providing answer sheet generation to allow teachers to keep printed tests for future use. Schoolhouse Test 3 also provides randomization of test questions and answers.

Good Features:

Bad Features:

• Design Edit window with most question details does not show question answers
• unclear reason for two checkboxes adjacent to each multiple choice answer
• confusing Randomize button in two places: in Design View and in overall ribbon of application
• fixed placement of images in test questions does not save paper as the tool describes
• cannot activate or deactivate questions based on categories such as Level or Type, each question must be checked individually

Missing Features

• does not provide a "one-click" generation of tests
• fluid generation
• lacks automated delivery of tests to students (i.e. no online or web based delivery or submission, printing only)
• question formation is entirely manual; user cannot pull test questions from a test bank (previously used tests and questions are not stored)
• no user or group administration functionality
