1.5.4. ClassMate

The Class Mate gradebook software gives teachers a way to calculate, manage, and organize their grades. It has a wide array of features and is highly customizable. With it's many tools, teachers are able to create a gradebook tailored to their own needs, as well as have ways for students to view their progress on assignments and in the class.

Good Features:

• Extremely customizable
• Very flexible
• Several sorting methods
• Able to manage several classes at once
• Able to view a certain time period within a school session
• Several "views" and ways to view information
• Able to send progress reports of almost anything to student
• Extra features, such as attendance

Bad Features:

• Cluttered look on initial installation
• Confusing menus
• Outdated graphics
• Students are limited to what the teacher decides to give them in terms of progress reports (unless teacher pays for additional services
• Privacy issues, if the file containing information is leaked all information can be viewable

Missing Features:

• Graphical way to view grades (pie chart, histogram)
• Way to easily manipulate and tweak grades through a graphical interface
• Students version of program, allowing them to tweak and "predict" their own grades
• A way to sync to official school grade servers and submit them
