2.4. Edit Grades

When the user selects Edit Grade on the tools menu of the Grader without a roster uploaded or inputted, the screen appears as shown in Figure 1.

Figure 2.4.1: Edit Grade Initial screen.

The initial screen consists of assignments the users have added. The initial screen also contains students that have been added to the roster. Other than that the total grade will be set to 0 for every student that don't have grades added.

Figure 2 shows how the screen looks when students are added to the roster without grades being entered.

Figure 3 shows how the screen looks when students have scores inputted into the editable boxes. Users can enter any real number into the boxes making negative numbers a valid entry. Empty boxes under assignments count as zeros and will reflect accordingly in the total grade. In Figure 3 there is a blinking cursor under Assignment 3 which shows how the box looks when a user has clicked inside in preparation to enter a score. As grades are entered the last row will reflect the average score of the class. This average skips counting blank boxes as they are considered incomplete or not turned in.

Figure 4 shows what the screen looks like if you click on the "Name" column header. Clicking on a column header sorts the class roster by that column. The first click causes the roster to sort by that column in ascending order. The second click would force the sort to go in ascending order which would be depicted by an arrow pointing up instead of down.
