1.5.3. Elluminate
Elluminate is a Java based live learning and collaboration program. It
provides a means of presenting material while interacting live with
the presenter and the people watching. It contains many of the core features
of the eClass and in some ways goes beyond. Elluminate is very similar to
what eClass is capable of and is missing very little.
Good Features:
- Good means of presenting slide material
- Easy ways of indicating someone has a question
- Chat functionality
- Real time audio communication
- Methods of loading/saving components of presentations
(whiteboard, quizzes, conversations)
- Moderators can dictate permissions to allow
talking/writing on the whiteboard etc.
- Teaching techniques such as performing quizzes and polling
- Useful tools such as a graphic calculator and file transfer capabilities
- Network capabilities allows collaboration from anywhere with anyone
- Whiteboard provides easy collaboration and interaction with slides
Bad Features:
Missing Features:
- Slidification techniques for outlined presentations
- No hierarchical detail for outlined presentations
- No individual communication through slides
