2.6.1. Basic Chat Features

Basic window functions

'Minimize' -- minimize the Chat window to the lower corner of the main system screen.
'Maximize' -- maximize the Chat window to occupy the whole system screen
'Close' -- close the Chat window. The Chat window can be reopened through the main menu bar.

 

Toolbar Functions

'Change Font Size' -- Changes the font size of selected text.
'Highlight' -- Changes the background color of the selected text.
'Spell Check' -- Checks the text for misspelled words. Any words not reconigzed by the program will be underlined and possible solutions will be offered.
'Cut' -- Removes the selected text. (Hotkey:"Control + X")
'Copy' -- Copies the selected text. (Hotkey:"Control + C ")
'Paste' -- Inserts any text that has been stored by the 'Cut' or 'Copy' feature. (Hotkey:"Control + V ")

 


Changing the Text Size

To change the text size, select the section of text as shown in Figure 2.6.1.a.

Select the increase or decrease buttons to alter the text to the desired size. Figure 2.6.1.b. shows the text being increased.

Highlighting Text

To highlight text, select the section of text as shown in Figure 2.6.1.c.

Select the highlight button to highlight the text. Figure 2.6.1.d. shows the text being highlighted..

Spell Checking Text

To check the spelling of a string of text select the Spell Check feature. In response the EClass program will underline any misspelled words as shown in Figure 2.6.1.e.

To view possible corrections to the word(s), right click on the word as shown in Figure 2.6.1.f.

Selecting a correction replaces the misspelled word with the correction.
