A window labeled "Select a User" appears. To chat, select the desired user and then select the 'Chat' Button. To cancel the creation of a chat select 'Close' button in the window title bar.

To start a chat using the Roster, double click the name of the user as shown in Figure 2.6.3.1b.

Once the user creates a new chat, either through the toolbar or the roster, a new tab appears inside the chat window. Figure 2.6.3.1c. shows a new tab in the chat window.
