Elluminate Live! Academic Edition is an electronic classrom environment available for both PC and Mac operating systems. Elluminate Live! Academic Edition is an offshoot of the Elluminate Live! family, built specificly for academic use.

The Good:

• PowerPoint import.
• Application sharing among all users.
• Displays full roster, along with indication icons (present, has a question, etc.)
• Automatically detects network latency issues and adjusts quality and size of content in order keep presentation in synch among all users. Elluminate Live! also transmits all of its data with a relatively small amount of bandwith to keep networking issues minimal.
• Public whiteboard with user-specific write permissions.
• Built in graphing calculator.
• Live video and audio.
• File transfer among.users.
• Allows for recording of session, including whiteboard and powerpoint slides.
• Provides interface for on-the-go quizzes and surveys.

The Bad:

• Limited options for saving whiteboards.
• While public whiteboards exist, no user-specific private whiteboards are available.

The Missing:

• Only supports PowerPoint imports for slideshows.
• Has no support for note taking and saving.
• Provides no interface for controlling user's computer environment (i.e. - locking the computer down to just the Elluminate application).
• No remote control monitoring
• No shape recognition for whiteboard.
