3.2. Qualitative System Characteristics

Security is important when remote users connect to eClassroom. Security is provided by the Remote Student Requested List provided via the message view window. Using this list an Instructor can approve or deny remote users access to the lecture session. Privacy is not as important because no sensitive user information is used by eClassroom.

eClassroom has two user interfaces, one for the instructor and one for students, and as such has two levels of user control. The student interface is mainly a subset of the instructor interface with some minor differences. The student interface is easier to control and is mainly comprised of windows with graphics and buttons. The instructor interface has most of these same graphical interfaces and also has more sophistacated options for creatings lectures and managing the roster.
