1.5.5. Scriblink Review - by Brian Norman
Scriblink is a basic online “whiteboard” tool. It allows for easy sharing of an online drawing space. It is available at http://www.scriblink.com.
Overall, this tool provides all of the standard whiteboard features that would be necessary in our solution, but does not offer much beyond that. There is no support for any lecture-oriented features like slides or text management. And since there is no support for linking to rosters, it would be difficult to adapt this program from its meeting-oriented design to a classroom-oriented use.
Good Features:
Easy to use interface
All commonly-used drawing tools
Simple to share link with others
Ability to upload files for drawing on
Built-in chat client
Ability to save whiteboards for viewing in the future
VOIP for remote users
Bad Features
Potentially insecure (possible to access whiteboards that are not your own)
Missing Features:
No registration or authentication
Unable to link with an existing class roster
No method for importing pre-formatted text or slides
No support for private whiteboards between two or more users
Unable to save or manage specific layers of a drawing space
