1.2. System Personnel

The personnel involved in the Electronic Classroom project are organized into the following groups and subgroups:

  1. End user
    1. Students
    2. Guest users
    3. Teacher
  1. Cal Poly Computer Science Department
  2. Outside Parties
  3. System Developers

Students are users who use the Electronic Classroom for viewing lectures. Students are registered in the class and will be participating in the lecture in the same room as the lecturer. Guest users are users who may or may not be registered in the class but are logging in from a remote destination. Guest users access can be selectively limited by the teacher as well as their ability to actively participate in the lecture. The teacher is anyone who prepares lectures, presents lectures, and controls lecture interactions.

The primary customer is Gene Fisher.  He is the customer representative for the Computer Science department at the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

The primary system developers are Ryan Sundberg, Ahren Reed, Reece Engle, Brian Norman, Nic Farrell and Alex Hill.  Development activities are all the steps of the software development process , from requirements analysis through product implementation and deployment. They are also responsible for testing, documentation, and project management.

The Electronic Classroom is intended to be used in the Cal Poly Computer Science Department. Students will be using the tool as a learning and interacting aid for classroom lectures.

Outside parties will also be able to use the tool for various needs such as meetings, students explaining concepts to other students, and anything else utilizing the lecture features of this project.
