The Grader Project

This document defines the requirements for an academic grade management tool. The tool provides funtionality
for a professor to conveniently manage and publish grade information for all his or her classes in a centrally
located server. This tool is designed to make grade management convenient and easy through an innovative and
intuitive interface. Students are able to access the grading feedback through a web based interface. Due to
the sensitive nature of grades, security is integrated from end to end in order to prevent grade tampering and

The Grader project is organized into the following directories:

• requirements -- user-level functional requirements for the project
• specification -- formal specification of the functional requirements
• prototype -- operational prototype, with limited functionality
• design -- architectural software design
• implementation -- implementation source and executables
• testing -- testing plans and results
• administration -- administrative and managerial information
• documentation -- audience-specific documentation, such as users manual and installation instructions
