1.5.5 Lantiv TimeTabler 6 Review
This
program has a very friendly user interface and actually has features very
similar to the ones we are creating in our Scheduler. It could probably work fine for smaller
sized institutions but in terms of a large college campus with hundreds of
courses and teachers it would not be as easy to read. Another note, this program neglects to
include an area where teachers get to choose preferences of what course to
teach along with time of day to work. The TimeTabler 6 also doesn’t have any
sort of algorithm that runs to make the most “fair” schedule. On the positive side of things the
program looks very user friendly and has a database to store lots of
information in. The TimeTabler keeps track of teachers, classrooms, equipment,
school name and other important information that a scheduler would want to
have. This program was designed
with the thought that a single persons’ job would be dedicated to
scheduling the next quarter or semester. The Scheduler and its “fair” algorithm rid the institution of
devoting hours on end to the schedule.
