The personnel involved with the Scheduling Tool can be broken up into the following groups:
End users use the scheduling tool to generate classroom schedules for each academic quarter. Instructors use the tool to input their time and subject preferences to assist with the generation of the schedule. Scheduling Administrators use the tool to create a schedule, which they are then able to modify. They can also modify a particular instructor's preferences for a specific quarter, though they are unable to change the permanent preferences submitted by the instructors. Both groups are able to view a finished schedule for any quarter.
The primary system developers are Chris Esposto, Nick Mazza, Alex Benningfield, Jeff DeWan, Aaron Washington, and Israel Urquiza.
Though the Scheduling Tool is designed specifically for the use of the Cal Poly Computer Science department, other schools or businesses with large scale scheduling needs will be able to use the tool with only slight modification.
