The introductory scenario shows a user finding a classroom in the database. Updating the classroom database is one of the most commonly performed operations when generating a schedule. In this scenario the user is assumed to have already imported a classroom database.
To update the classroom database the user selects 'Classrooms' from the toolbar or from the menubar the user selects 'view' and then 'Classrooms'. In each scenario a window will appear with a list of classes and a series of buttons called 'New', 'Edit', and 'Delete', ' as in figure 2.5.3-1.

Eventually the database will get very large so to find a room quickly the user must search for the room by using the 'Filter by' dropdown menu. The user can indicate to filter by 'Room' or 'Building' as in figure 2.5.3-2. The field to the right of the dropdown menu is where the user enters the numbers or letters to match. A unique match will leave only one entry in the list. Typical lists will have only a couple of entries remaining as in figure 2.5.3-3.

The user can then highlight the entry and has the options to then either 'Edit' or 'Delete' that entry (see sections 2.5.2 and 2.5.4).
