1.5.2. Questionmark Perception
Questionmark Perception has been a constantly evolving testing tool since
1995. Now it is a well rounded program that gives functions to do just
about everything with tests, Authoring, Administering, Delivery, and Reporting.
Good Features:
- Well rounded, full of services testing tool
- Major training program to initiate new users and introduce to new
institutions
- Wizards for many of the functions, to make things simpler
- Strong spell checker with ability to add own words to vocabulary
- Many options to customize every question type
- Time limit available for exams, with some extra features such as low time
warning
- Supports adding graphics, as well as backgrounds, sound, video, and more
- Administrator options for scheduling and proctoring a test
- Good security using usernames and passwords, along with not allowing
screenshots to be captured during testing or printing
- Filtering options when viewing class grades by date, outcome, ect
Bad Features:
- Administrating operations are solely limited to web based testing
- Time limits are not able to be paused by proctor
- Many filtering options are limited on the client based (not web based)
program
- Limited exporting of questions/answers
- No cross platform test creation options, limited to Windows
Missing Features:
- No cross-platform test creation
- No cross-platform test proctoring
- No different score for unanswered questions
- Doesn't keep track of when each question was last used
- Can't create a test based on the types of questions to ask, length of the
test, or the difficulty of the questions
- No real time preview of output
- Can not show answered/unanswered questions
- No book marking a question for later completion
- Does not allow the test clock to be paused
- No ability to change clock "time remaining"
- No adding notes to questions during a test
- Teachers can not highlight or add notes to a graded test
- Can't email scores back to students
- No returning annotated tests back to students
