1.4. Impacts

The positive impacts for the software relate to students and teachers, improving the test-taking environment. It allows teachers to control the resources students get on tests, as well as making it more convenient for students to take their tests in class or from home. It would increase the efficiency of test creation, test taking, and test grading.
Some negative impacts include those present with automated grading and test creation; teachers may allow the software to grade without reviewing the computer's work. Teachers may also use the software to generate tests that are too hard for the students. The testing tools may prove too difficult to use, unfairly hindering students from completing the tests. There are also issues of privacy, with the students test scores stored on an institution-owned server. If the system fails, then students and teachers may fall behind schedule in coursework.
