Welcome to the Amazing Classroom Presenter
Our Project
Our team is performing a study of learning techniques in the classroom.
We will evaluate the effectiveness of Tablet PCs as a learning device,
and specifically the Classroom Presenter software package. By assessing
performance on quizzes and measuring classroom interactions like asking
questions, submitting feedback, and responding to questions, we can
effectively gauge the utility of Tablet PC software in the classroom.
Our results may even motivate (or dissuade) the use of Tablet PC
software for instructors.
The Storyboard
Our storyboard lays out how we will conduct the experiment. The
establishing shot shows the classroom environment. We will have a
lecturer presenting a talk on a subject to students - half of whom will
be using Tablet PC software, the other half using traditional learning
methods. Our prediction is that traditional learning is slower, more
cluttered, and less efficient than an enhanced, Tablet based learning
solution.
The remaining shots in the storyboard show the different features that
we will pay specific attention to. First, the instructor is able to
annotate his deck of presentation slides. Similarly, the student can
also record her own annotations using the Classroom Presenter software.
Also, the student can submit feedback to the instructor which can then,
by the discretion of the instructor, be broadcasted to the rest of the
class. Students can navigate the presentation in any order she chooses,
and quickly switch back to the guided mode which follows the
instructor's broadcast. Finally, the student can save their notes for
retrieval later.
