Scenario 5 - Running Layers, Canvases & Projects
In this last scenario, the user wants to run the project to check
the sensitization. There are three different ways that the user can
invoke the run feature. The first and most obvious way is with the
Run button on the Widget toobar. The second way is through the
Run menu on the menu bar. The third method of invoking the run feature
is through the View -> Toolbars -> Widget -> Run... menu command.
When requesting the run feature, the user must determine which level of
the project to run. The user can run through a range of layers,
canvases or the entire project.
Screen 1:
The user can run the project by either clicking on the Run button
on the Widget toolbar or by using the Run menu on the menu bar.
Notice that the menu method gives the user the three levels to run the
project by.
Screen 2:
Here the user selected the Run button on the Widget toolbar.
The user is now prompted to determine which method to use.
Screen 3:
If the user clicks By Layer, the Run - Layers window appears.
Once here, the user clicks the From button, then selects a layer from
the Canvas Navigator, then clicks the To button and selects the layer
to run to from the Canvas Navigator. The chosen layer will appear
in the text box next to the corresponding button.
Screen 4:
If the user clicks By Canvas, the Run - Canvas window appears.
Once here, the user clicks the From button, then selects a canvas from
the Canvas Navigator, then clicks the To button and selects the canvas
to run to from the Canvas Navigator. The chosen canvas will appear
in the text box next to the corresponding button.
Screen 5:
Here the user instead chose to run the entire project (since it
is rather small) from the Run menu. The name of the project is
Painter Project and this appears in the menu.
Screen 6:
The development environment disappears, and the user is moved to
the desktop. In the bottom right hand corner, the current layer and
canvas appears. Layer1 of Canvas1 is the first "slide" to appear
on the screen. The user clicks on the Cancel button...
Screen 7:
The Cancel dialog button appears. Notice that the current
layer is now Layer2. The user selects "Yes" from the Cancel dialog.
It is assumed that the user has linked the "Yes" button to Layer3, which
is the final layer that terminates the story board presentation.
If the user had selected "No", the user would be returned to Layer1 (the
beginning). It is also assumed that the user has completed this link.
Screen 8:
The end of the story board demo.
