The X Project

Put a high-level executive summary of the project here, consisting of one or two paragraphs.

The X project is organized into the following directories:

requirements -- user-level functional requirements for the project

specification -- formal specification of the functional requirements

prototype -- operational prototype, with limited functionality

design -- architectural software design

implementation -- implementation source and executables

testing -- testing plans and results

administration -- administrative and managerial information

documentation -- audience-specific documentation, such as users manual and installation instructions

Details of this organizational structure are given in the online materials for Gene Fisher's software engineering courses, CSC 205 and CSC 206.

The following are instructions for using this template:

Make sure this file resides at the top level of a projects directory.
Change all occurrences of "X" to the appropriate project name. Do the same for the index.html files in the administration, testing, and testing/requirements directories.
Fill in the executive summary.
Delete these instructions.
