Name: Tea Brewing Process Purpose: To prepare a cup of hot tea for consumption Resources: A tea kettle. A mug or cup to drink from. One tea bag. Entry Criteria: Mug is clean. Activities: Boil water and steep tea. Directions: Place tea bag in mug. Bring 6 oz or more of water to boil in a tea kettle. When water is boiling, remove kettle from heat and pour 6 oz of water into the mug. Verify that the tea bag is completely submerged. Allow the mug and bag to sit undisturbed ("steep") for 3 to 5 minutes, depending on desired beverage strength. Remove tea bag and place in compost. Optional: Add milk, cream, sugar, or lemon to taste. Exit Criteria: Tea bag has been disposed. Tea is at drinking temperature. Output: A cup of hot tea ready to drink. |
