Engineering Myths

MYTH: You have to be "mechanically inclined" to be an engineer.
FACT: College is where you learn to be an engineer.

MYTH: All engineers sit by themselves at their desk, all day long.
FACT: Most engineers spend a large percent of their days working on teams, as managers, or with clients. Opportunities for engineers range from design jobs to sales jobs, to leading corporations.

MYTH: All engineers are nerds.
FACT: Good people skills are a requirement for most engineering jobs.

What Can I Do With an Engineering Degree?

A degree in engineering teaches you how to transform technological ideas into reality. Engineers affect all aspects of our lives by building and designing anything from air conditioning, bridges, cars, laser discs, water treatment plants, to amusement parks!
