Everyone deserves the opportunity to learn about computer science and programming. California is moving towards this goal via adopting standards for computer science education.
"Per California Education Code Section 60605.4, "on or before July 31, 2019, the Instructional Quality Commission shall consider developing and recommending to the SBE computer science content standards for kindergarten and grades 1 to 12, inclusive, pursuant to recommendations developed by a group of computer science experts."
In an effort to support K-12 teachers, we are working on developing animations to help illustrate some of the key concepts associated with these standards. This work began with a STAR student, Melida Paz in summer 2019, advised by Dr. Zoë Wood.
