CPE 471: Graphics Final Project

by Richard Rattner

The aim of this project was to create a hierarchical model that was animated to show the proper technique of a Taekwondo front-snap kick. It utilizes OpenGL as well as GLUT and Glew to do this. The models used were created in maya and exported as .obj and .mtl files, and were interpreted using a parser by Grant Plaster and supplied to us by course professor Zoe Wood. The scene is navigable using 'w', 'a', 's', and 'd'. The main challenges were working with the maya-created files and tweaking them to work as desired, which was fairly time-consuming. The images below are stills from taken from the maya-based model performing the animation.
