Geometry Wars Remake
My game was modeled
after a game seen on xbox live dubbed geometry wars, and as such it is
my resource for some of my ideas.
The basic premise of
the game:
A player or "ship" that is being relentless assaulted by
random geometry(that can be done using hierarchy modeling).
As snoopy is
demonstrating, the geometry is attacking the pyramid(with cannon) player
that will lose a life when an enemy strikes the player. This is
determined using collision detection. The player also has a cannon that
will help against the onslaught. If the bullets hit any of the enemies
they will die, unless they have more than one heath, which will be
apparent.
Summary Of Player
Player can move
through world.
Player can fire
bullets.
Press Q to quit.
Use the WSAD
keys to move.
Use the arrow keys to
fire.
Summary Of Enemy
They are coming
for you.
Different shapes and
sizes.
Their vectors
will be pointing your way.
Different geometry will
act different.
Summary Of Game
Play
No time limit,
just keep playing.
Disabled deaths, just a
counter to let you know.
Point system for
destroying targets.
The game
continues to get harder after time.
More models will appear
with time alive.
More collisions(with
ammo), the more points.
Additional
Features
Pause the game
by pressing P to enter a new mode.
R will reset the mode, and
pressing P will continue the game.
Left and Right
arrow to turn and Up and Down to Zoom.
Pausing will
allow the user to venture through the 3D objects. It is recommended
before resuming to reset the viewframe, but if you like a challenge...
Since the
objects will be rendered near the Z = zero plane, there is nothing to
look up or down for.
Features I Wanted
To Implement
Sounds and
music.
Sprites for when
collisions occur.
Models using Blender.
Bombs and power-ups.
It would be nice
to also hear what is going on.
A good explosion or two
never hurt anyone.
A very intriguing
program.
A good way to wipe the
battlefield.
