Ray Tracer

by Andranik Chilian

Description

By casting rays from the camera into our scene, we are able to collect the location and color of objects in our scene. This color is calculated using the color of the object, the color of the light, the angle the ray hit the object, and the viewing angle.

Key Features

Renders

A simple snowman in a snowy scene. Created using all geometric transforms: scale, rotate, and translate. Povray File

A recreation of a scene from the game Slither.io. The snake is partially reflective and the orbs more so. Povray File

A scene with several sphere objects in a reflective room. The room consists of three reflective planes in a triangle formation. Three spheres are refractive and the middle is reflective. Povray File

VR: Attack of the Apes

My VR scene involves several gorillas that continually spawn around you in 360 degrees.
Eventually you are surrounded by howling gorillas with your only defense being half bananas, which you can throw with the press of the button.
Unfortunately, they are not appeased by measly half bananas and continue to surround you. Other features implemented include ambient sound and a skybox.
