Raytracer Final Images

This picture shows off a little bit of global illumination. You can see the different colors of each sphere on the objects around it.

This picture shows off reflection. There are two reflective planes opposite each other around the 'X'. One is out of our view so we only see one set of "infinitely repeating" reflections.

I originally wanted to make chopsticks, but these were too colorful to be chopsticks so I made them into pickup sticks. There's probably at least 20 just to show that my raytracer can handle decently large number of objects.

VR Final - World

I wanted to make one of my story worlds in VR and ended up with this mix of a fantasy world and a medieval setting, mainly because I couldn't get a giant bubble around the entire world to show up.

Final Thoughts

Raytracer

Building a raytracer was an interesting project, but a lot of theory and physics and less about creativity than I wanted. Still, I think it was a nice experience and definitely valuable knowledge for anyone interested in rendering and anyone who wants to go into a graphics related field.

VR Final

I liked trying to create a world in VR and in Unity, though I realized just how ridiculously picky I am when it comes to models and how things look. Perhaps it's just because I want my scenery to look exactly how I imagined them to be. I think I would have liked to spend time making models if I ever get the chance to do this again. Perhaps I am just in a section of my life where I want to put more focus on art rather than practical applications.
