Secure Shell and Secure File Transfer

Secure Shell (ssh) and Secure File Transfer (sftp) are two important pieces of software for navigating the network. As the names imply, the first program allows you to log in to another machine and work there while the second allows you to transfer files between a local machine and a remote one.
