AI Nugget Presentation
In this part of the class work, your task is to find interesting concepts, methods, or applications dealing with Artificial Intelligence, and give a short presentation of about ten minutes to your classmates.
Choice of Topics
The easiest way to find helpful information is probably to use the Web; a few good starting points are the Web sites of the American Association of Artificial Intelligence http://www.aaai.org/AITopics/, the Web sites of AI journals such as the IEEE Computer Society's "Intelligent Systems" journal.
You can also browse a collection of snippets from Web pages that I put on the
AI Nuggets Evernote Notebook. Some ideas are in a related notebook, KM Nuggets. The emphasis in the latter is on Knowledge Management (KM): helping people to utilize more effectively knowledge that is represented on computers.
The presentation should last about ten minutes, and you can use Powerpoint slides or similar. Unless you’ll be talking about material that you developed completely on your own, you need to include a bibliography at the end, with at least three references for sources you used, or links to additional information; if you use links, add information like title, author, organization, publication date - "naked" URLs are not sufficient.
Signing up for Topics and Dates
Once you’ve identified your topic, go to the AI Nugget Signup Sheet (linked through Canvas to restrict access), select a free time slot, and enter your name and topic there. Later you’ll also add a link to your proposal and to the slides for the presentation.
Grading Criteria
The distribution of points I intend to use for the evaluation of this assignment is given below.
  • Topic Knowledge 50,
  • AI Relevance 10,
  • Topic Difficulty 10,
  • Presentation Structure and Material 10,
  • Supporting Evidence 10,
  • Presentation Delivery 5,
