This is the entry point to the Web pages for the CPE/CSC 484 User-Centered Interface Design and Development class during the Winter 2014 term. Please note that material is being added to the pages in the course of the quarter.

What is Where?

In this class, we’ll use several repositories and tools for various purposes:
  • Instructor’s class Web pages: General class information, such as syllabus, schedule, assignment specifications; see the links on the navigation bar
  • Dropbox folder with presentation slides: Powerpoint, PDF and Keynote versions of the lecture slides; the Keynote version is the one I actually use in the lectures, and contains last-minute changes
  • PolyLearn (Moodle): Grades, submission of labs and assignments (sometimes via pointers to Web questionnaires)
  • Piazza: Discussion board
  • TRAC Wiki: Repository for project work; may be used as front-end with links to other repositories such as github. Each team will have their own wiki, such as 484-W14 Team 1. Since the TRAC Wiki setup is getting more cumbersome, we may replace this with a different repository. We’ve stopped using the TRAC Wikis as of W14. Most teams are using Google Docs instead.
  • User-Centered Design Evernote notebook: Collection of snippets for the selection of project topics; see also related notebooks onAI Nuggets and Knowledge Management.
