Peer Evaluations for Project Teams
13/10/11 12:51
I’m working on the assignment of evaluation teams for the project (see http://users.csc.calpoly.edu/~fkurfess/Courses/480/F11/Project/Project/Team-Evaluations.html).As a team, please look at the project list below or at http://users.csc.calpoly.edu/~fkurfess/Courses/480/F11/Project/Project/Teams.html and select your top two choices of teams you'd like to evaluate. I will then assign the evaluation teams.

Project Milestone Feedback Templates
13/10/11 12:50
I’ve added the templates I'm using for the evaluation of the project milestones toh the Web page describing the project, http://users.csc.calpoly.edu/~fkurfess/Courses/480/F11/Project/Project.html in the "Grading" part at the bottom of the page.
For Milestone Week 4, the emphasis is on the aspects below
User Feedback
initial reactions, criticism, suggestions, etc. from users of the alpha prototype or to design sketches
possible design modifications, changes in implementation
System Design
overview of the functional parts of the system
block diagram, class hierarchy
Prototype and Implementation
restrictions in functionality
implementation language, development tools
instructions for installation and basic use
Evaluation Plan
description of evaluation methods
detailed instructions for performing the evaluation
explicit evaluation criteria (questions, metrics)

A2 Wumpus World Available
13/10/11 07:57
- The second assignment, where your agent has to navigate the Wumpus World, is available now. Note that you have to submit two parts: first a description of the knowledge representation and reasoning methods you’re planning to use, and then the actual implementation.
More Details on AI Nugget Grading
12/10/11 15:45
I’ve modified the section on grading for the AI Nugget presentations by including the typical allocation of the score within the grading categories:
Grading Criteria
The distribution of points I intend to use for the evaluation of this assignment is as follows; the items in parentheses indicate the typical point distribution for that part:

Quiz Makeup Opportunity

If you're unhappy about your score in a quiz, you can increase it buy submitting alternative questions for the quiz, together with proposed answers.
Here are the guidelines for these questions:
- you need to indicate for which quiz (by week or by topic) the questions are intended
- each question adds up to five points to your overall quiz score; if I need to revise the question or answers, you may get fewer points
- you can submit several questions, but your overall quiz score won't be higher than 100 points
- please formulate the questions as plain text format according to the template below. Multiple-choice are my preferred option, but multiple-answers (where more than one answer is correct), fill-in-the-blank, calculated answers, and several others are also available. I've tried free-form text answers as well, but grading those in Blackboard is really tedious - far worse than the paper equivalent.
Question Template:
This is a template for a multiple choice question. Which of the following options is the correct or most suitable answer?
[ ] Answer 1 [10%] Why is it incorrect?]
[ ] Answer 2 [30%] [Why is it incorrect?]
[X] Answer 3 [100%] [Why is it correct?]
[ ] Answer 4 [0%] [Why is it incorrect?]
The two columns in square brackets indicate the amount of (partial) credit, and feedback to the student for the selected answer.
