All content and information in the three databases -- Room, Instructor, and Course will be only available to the Administrator user. All versions of any generated schedules will also only be private until the Admin user publishes them, making them available to any instructors or students. When viewing a generated schedule, students can retreive any information about sections of different course, its instructors, and the room(s) the courses are being offered in.
On the "simplicity-versus-power" spectrum, the Scheduler tool is on the side of powerful. The Admin user must be technically literate and should be knowledgeable on the use of databases, data servers, and computer networks. However, for the students and instructors -- the main users of the tool -- the Scheduler tool is fairly straightforward and easy to understand and use.
