3.1. System Performance

The Grader tool is meant for instantaneous processing. The application is stored on the machine, so there is no off-site processing or downloading. The most used online operations are syncing class rosters and submitting grades. For all other operations, they are performed on the machine, so the results are effectively instant.

Operations such as inputing grades, generating statistics, predicting grades, and adding or deleting graded items are effectively instantaneous. Generating the histogram or pie chart will require some computational power, so it will take up to 6 seconds of time. Syncing rosters or submitting grades is dependent on the speed of the internet connection.

Data is stored on the local computer. As the gradebook becomes populated, the data requirements will grow larger. There is no limit on the number of items, except for the amount of space on the local computer. For organization purposes, multiple files can be made, and each file can have their own set of sections.
