2.4.5.6 WTUs Exceeded

Once a user clicks the 'Generate' button shown in Figure 2.2.1, the Scheduler Tool will attempt to generate a schedule. During this process, different errors can occur that could prevent the generation of a schedule. This section describes the error that occurs when there is an Instructor who must teach more units than they have WTUs. Figure 2.4.5.6.1 below shows the error message that will appear when a user hits the "Generate" button and this error is encountered.

The above dialog box shows a list of Instructors who are exceeding the WTU maximum set in the database. The dialog box also gives a description of the error. As explained in the dialog box, when the setting is set to loose the Instructors will remain as the Instructor of their classes. WTU is only a soft error in this mode. When the setting is set to strict the error received is shown below in Figure 2.4.5.6.2.
