1.5.3. Engrade
Engrade is an online option for professors interested in an easier
assignment-grading process. It offers many useful
tools to professors such as creating classes, monitoring students, and many
applications ranging from quiz creation utilities to flashcards. The tool offered for free online with
optional paid features.
Engrade functions well as a grading tool, but it does not provide
many of the statistical analysis tools required of this project.
Good Features:
- Automated grade weighting based on categories
- Can associate files with assignments
- Instantly updates class average
- Wide range of potential apps to use per class
- Easy to open and close turn-ins for specific assignments

- Multiple grading standards (%, raw score, letter grades)
Bad Features:
- Cannot easily import class data
- Updating grades is slower than it should be
- No average percentage points per each assignment
- Limited graphical representations of data
- Only one course per spreadsheet
- Too many different screens for each different action
Missing Features:
- Grouping students into teams
- Setting curves for classes and assignments
- Creating a grading template for a class
- Automation of late assignments
