The personnel involved in the Calendar Tool project are organized into the following groups and subgroups:
End users are the students, teachers, and others who use the Test Tool for its intended purpose. Students will use the test-taking side of the interface to complete and submit their assigned tests. Professors will generate tests based on a set of parameters such as the number of questions to be assigned and the time the test should be completed in. The professors should then be able to assign these generated tests to their students. Finally, others will no doubt use the Test Tool for their own test-generating, editing, and test-taking purposes.
The primary customer is Gene Fisher and the Computer Science Department at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. We assume Fisher and the rest of the CSC Department will provide us with enough details about the product he desires and specify a set of requirements for the software.
The primary system developer is comprised of the Rear-Center team of Fisher's Winter 308 class. Their development activities are all those of the software development process, from requirements analysis through product implementation and deployment. They will also conduct the ongoing process activities of testing, configuration, documentation, and project management.
The Rear-Center group's development efforts are based on the requirements given to them by Fisher and their understanding of a Test-Taking tool molded by similar types of software.
In this specific case, the Test-Tool will be used as an example for use in software engineering students. It is designed so the students will be able to mimic the standard software-development process and gain experience by creating this tool. Other parties will continue to use this tool for their own purposes.
