1.5.1. Grade Organizer v4.0
Grade Organizer v4.0 is one of the cheaper gradebook software packages available on the web.
This software includes the expected spreadsheet format of a grading system with some nice features so that teachers can look at their grade distributions.
Good Features:
-
Assignments are grouped into Categories: Each category of assignments can be averaged individually or added directly to the average. A Category can also have a Weight, drop student's lower grade, drop student's lowest grade, and cap the average value (e.g.: between 60 and 100).
-
Class and Students Statistics: You can view and report statistical information (variance, standard deviation, t-score, z-score...) and charts on your class and students for the current assignment, category average, sub-term average, term average and class average.
-
Import/Export of Data: The software lets you import and export data from MS Access, Excel, dBase, Paradox, FoxPro, HTML
-
Easy to navigate
Bad Features:
-
Assignments can’t be broken down into individual question grades
-
No way to collapse all columns into just categories, have to look at each category
-
Charts are non-interactive
-
Interface looks archaic
Missing Features:
-
Histogram chart
-
Extra credit points
-
Secure network accessibility (for students)
-
sophisticated filtered viewing
