Cisco Tutorials Review
Good Features
- One of the main features of this system is it contains comprehensive lab simulation exercises. These exercises will essentially gives users the ability to login to routers, switches and other network simulation devices and gets hands on experience. The same concept could be deployed for our CS Tutor system, for example, we can have a virtual C/Java environment where users can write programs and tested out, on the go.
- This NetAcad system is fully secure, authorized user access only system. Users have to log in using a username and a password. This might be a good idea to prevent unnecessary tampering of the CS Tutor system.
- Picture and content design of this system is kept really simple and clean. On the left hand side you have pictures and graphs that explain certain features, and on the right hand side you have paragraphed contents which use a scroll bar to navigate further down. And it has a next and previous buttons and another buttons for the menu items, so user can have the easy access to the lecture materials. Almost all the pages are contained with a nice, big picture accompanied by well spaced paragraphed contents.
- This system contains a very robust search functionality.
Bad Features
- As a user of this system, sometimes personally I have found it's not completely easy to go back and forth between different modules. It gets little bit of time getting familiarize with the system.
- System doesn't provide any interaction between user to user or, user to instructor, interaction method.
Missing Features
- There's no way instructor to determine the progress of the student users.
