3.1 System Performance

3.1.1 Effectively Instantaneous Commands

eCclass is not designed to perform computationally intensive commands. Therefore all program commands fall into this category, as any command in the eClass should appear to be instantaneous to the user. Any delays that may be encountered are not the cause of the eClass software but are dependent on external factors.

3.1.2 Computational Commands

The eClass does not perform computationally intensive commands like a scheduler program might. The purpose of this program is to be a live connection in a class room environment, and therefore delays are not acceptable.

3.1.2 Maximum Size Requirements

Several components are limited in the scope of the eClass program. The following assumptions are used in design of this software:

• A series of lecture slides will be less than a thousand.
• No more than 50 layers will be present on a given slide.
• Less than 100 shapes will be drawn on a given layer.
• A class well have less than 1000 students enrolled.
• A nested lecture slide will have a depth less than 20 for one heading.
